A Linguists and Engineers Meeting Point
Once received by our talented project managers, a software localization project is to be carefully planned ahead then distributed to our target-language in-country linguists and experienced software engineers, working cooperatively together on a series of steps from text extraction to final testing and quality assurance, with the ultimate aim of producing a locale-specific software that is culturally adapted, linguistically accurate, and efficiently operative.
Internal Service: The Beginning
In the localization industry, particularly software localization, multiple roles equally contribute to the success of each project: linguists, graphic designers, localization engineers, and reviewers are involved in the process. This makes teamwork and effective internal communication intrinsic to achieving customer-satisfying outcomes. At AsiaLocalize, we believe a high-quality external service always starts by an excellent internal service. The professional and motivating environment we strive to maintain facilitates finding common ground across our teams, putting our clients’ best interest ahead in each step.
Spot It, Stop It
Identifying common issues early on saves time and money and helps finding the best solutions. Some languages are more verbose than others, which would inevitably lead to text expansion. Many Asian languages are double byte which can be challenging in terms of translation. Similarly, right to left languages like Thaana can pose a problem if the tools and resources don’t support RTL languages. With our expertise and proven methodology, we thoroughly analyze each project, spot the challenges, and come up with the most suitable approaches to take our clients’ software across borders.
Localize in Style
With the advent of CAT tools and translation memory started a new era of translation and localization industry. Translation memory builds up as the translation process proceeds creating a resource bank of words, phrases, and sentences that can be constantly reused and updated, which dramatically reduces the time invested, and consequently costs. At AsiaLocalize, in addition to using CAT tools and TPM, we pride ourselves on having our In-House Style Guide and glossary that minimize inconsistencies and contribute to providing a faster and more reliable service.
Put It through the Test
Testing by trained localization quality assurance professionals is an integral step in the translation process. Testing will expose technical issues and verify software proper functionality.
At AsiaLocalize, our rigorous testing system is strictly followed, allowing us to detect any flaws and ensuring that the localized software will perform consistently across languages.
